We began As The Contract Cleaning Company

SMC Premier Group started life a private, family owned company which began in 1982, founded by Maureen Byrne the now CEO. The company provided (and still does provide) business to business cleaning services nationwide from its head office in Manchester.

Our years of experience in the industrial and commercial cleaning sectors has engrained a customer and people-centric work ethic, an unparalleled ability to adapt to changing clients’ needs and priorities, and a Safety First and Right First Time- Every Time mentality.

Cleaning and all our other services are an essential customer service where clients rely on us to carry those services out so that they can concentrate on their core business.

What set us apart in the early days (and what we continue to demonstrate now) is that we understood we were only as good as our people, processes, and systems. Hence, we invested and continue to invest in all our staff offering robust inductions, on the spot awards, appraisal and career development meetings, Employee of the Month awards and innovative training videos, thus ensuring that all staff are valued, competent and adhere to the highest of safety standards and etiquette.

For each cleaning job, we soon learnt that management of the contract, the people on site and the client experience needed to be overseen by a Contract Manager and a robust auditing process. This is something that we continue to do today for all our services. You will receive a single point of contact for the successful delivery of your project/ service and be assured that all the services employed are carried out by competent people and are audited. We also recognise that processes and systems are essential for consistency, management, and continual improvement. We can demonstrate this by having successfully gained certification of ISO9001, ISO14001, CHAS, Cyber Essentials and BICS memberships.
